Reminder!!

Every setback has a major comeback.
I remind myself of that each day, I make sure I never forget what I hold inside me. I appreciate the fact I have people to remind me I'm a Mother, but I'm a Dreamer too. It's only today that I play the role of Mother, but I will always be a Mom. My duties don't get over in next two months, my play has just begun. But I also have to remember I'm not just a Mom. I'm a role model to my daughters.
They get strength & motivation from me. Each day that I spend today in nursing my little new born, each day I make myself more strong. Not just to make a comeback, but now I got to inspire one more life to go ahead grab her dreams & live life that she desire.

When I see women around me, dancing, it makes me realise how for ages we all have suppressed our desires to do things we wanted to. Today the amount of women leaving their high profile careers to approach their dreams is unbelievable. Only to show for these years, we were slaves of  many situations. A daughter today is dancer, entrepreneur, she expresses her desire to be what she wants to be. She is the leading lady of many business houses. Nevertheless to show we can. It's an outburst of everything we felt all these years. We saw our mothers giving up their dreams only to be woman of the house, today that same mother is the biggest support in her daughter's life. It doesn't end here, for all the achievements we have seen, when we make our mothers join celebrations,  that makes the after party a huge success. A big cheers to the Woman of Today Moms & Daughters!!!

First International Belly Dance Fusion Festival to be India

This is the First International Belly Dance Fusion Festival, where Art marries Activism. Curated and conceptualised by Leena Viie a Mumbai based bellydancer who left her hi-flying corporate life to travel the world and devote herself to an artistic path. 

Slated for Women's Day Weekend this festival will underline the Pro-feminist theme and will host various International and National artists and master trainers. 

The Festival's key objective: Teaching and celebrating the art of bellydance while engaging in conversations around feminism, trust, and power dynamics.

Never seen before attractions include

·Fresh fusion workshops : Kathak Bellydance, Burlesque Bellydance, Lavni Bellydance, Flamenco Bellydance

·Bellydance Flash Mob under the One Billion Rising banner

·Belly Dance for Pregnant Women  by Chaitali Soparkar aimed at. women who are pregnant, are trying to conceive and those dealing with stiffness post delivery. 

·For the first time an exclusive male bellydance workshop will be offered  

·Evening show with international and local performers

·Belly Dance Competition and Open Stage 

·Bellydance Party (called Hafla) 

With such excitement, all contained in two days of frolic and fun, it's going to surprise you to hear that ENTRY TO FLASHMOB IS FREE. Yes, you heard that right. The Flash Mob initiative is being co-organised by Leena and Chaitali.
